Dead Battery? We Boost Cars Across Calgary, Fast
Left the lights on, came out to a click, or a cold morning finished off an aging battery? One call brings a tow truck operator to your location to boost your car fast, test the charging system, and get you back on the road.
Call (587) 885-2326 any hour, day or night.
Why Calgary Drivers Call Us for a Boost
24/7 jump starts
Dead batteries do not keep office hours. Our operators boost cars day and night, weekends and holidays included.
Fast dispatch, fair price
We send the closest truck and quote a fair price up front. No surprises, just a quick boost and you are moving again.
We find out why
A dead battery is sometimes the lights left on, sometimes the alternator. We assess it on the spot and explain what happened.
A tow if it will not hold
If your battery is finished, we can tow you to a battery shop or mechanic so you are not stuck twice.
How to Jump Start Your Car
If another driver can help and you have jumper cables, here is the safe order. Not sure or on a busy road? Call us and we will handle it.
Put both vehicles in park or neutral with the engines off.
Attach a red clip to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery.
Attach the other red clip to the positive (+) terminal of the donor car.
Attach a black clip to the negative (-) terminal of the donor car.
Attach the last black clip to clean, unpainted metal on the dead car.
Start the donor vehicle and let it run for a few minutes.
Start your vehicle, let both run about 5 minutes, then drive somewhere safe before shutting off.
No one around to help? For a flat fee we arrive fast and get you running.
What to Expect When We Arrive
Battery and alternator check
A quick visual inspection to confirm whether the battery, the alternator, or something else is the real issue.
Safe hookup
We connect jumper cables or a portable booster pack with gloves, hazard lights, and the correct cable order.
Boost and test
We jump-start your vehicle, then test the charging system to confirm you are good to drive away.
Replacement if needed
If the battery is completely dead and beyond help, we help you arrange a replacement or a tow.
Boost or Replace? Signs Your Battery Is Done
A boost will almost always get you started, but it does not fix a battery at the end of its life. These signs usually mean it is time for a new one:
- Slow, labored cranking when you turn the key, or a rapid clicking sound.
- Dim headlights and dash lights, or electronics that reset or act up.
- The battery is three to five years old, the typical lifespan in Calgaryβs climate.
- You have needed more than one boost in a short stretch of time.
- A swollen case, a rotten-egg smell, or heavy corrosion on the terminals.
We test the battery and charging system on arrival. If it will not hold a charge, we get you to a shop with our breakdown towing or a flatbed.
Why Batteries Fail in Calgary
Calgaryβs temperature swings, especially through winter, are hard on batteries. The most common causes we see:
Cold weather
Cold mornings slow the chemical reaction inside a battery and make it work far harder to start the engine.
Short drives
A string of short trips never gives the battery time to fully recharge between starts.
Electronics left on
Headlights, interior lights, or a door left ajar overnight can flatten a battery by morning.
An aging battery
Most batteries last three to five years. After that, failure becomes far more likely, especially in winter.
A failing alternator
If the alternator is not charging properly, the battery drains even on a healthy charge.
Protect Your Battery Through a Calgary Winter
A dead battery on a frozen morning is one of our most common calls. A few habits keep yours cranking:
Use your block heater
Plug in on cold nights. A warmer engine is far easier on the battery at start-up.
Park sheltered
Park inside or out of the wind whenever you can to keep the battery warmer.
Drive longer sometimes
Take a longer drive now and then so the battery fully recharges.
Switch things off
Turn off the heater fan, lights, and accessories before you shut the car off.
Keep terminals clean
Clean, tight terminals free of corrosion carry a stronger charge.
Test in the fall
Have the battery tested before the deep cold arrives, so a weak one does not strand you.
Emergency Battery Boost Across All of Calgary
Stranded in Downtown Calgary, the Northwest on a winter morning, or out near Rocky View County? Our dispatch sends the closest truck your way, often arriving in 20 to 30 minutes in central areas. We run 24/7, including holidays and through snowstorms, so you are never left without help.

Transparent Pricing and Our Guarantee
Our battery boost service is quoted up front and priced fairly across Calgary, with a modest travel surcharge only if you are well outside the downtown core. No hidden fees, you get the price before we arrive. If for any reason the battery cannot be jump-started, we offer towing to the nearest garage or battery shop at a fair rate.
Can You Drive After a Battery Boost?
Yes, and you should. Once we get your engine running, a bit of driving lets the alternator put charge back into the battery. Here is how to make the boost stick:
Drive for 20 to 30 minutes
After a boost, keep driving for at least 20 to 30 minutes, ideally at highway speed. A quick trip around the block will not give the alternator time to recharge a flat battery.
Skip the short hops
Avoid short stop-start trips right after a boost, and go easy on the heater, seat warmers, and stereo until the battery builds charge back up.
If it dies again, it is the battery
If your car will not restart after a good drive, the battery is likely at the end of its life or the alternator is not charging. That is often a breakdown call, and we can help.
When a Boost Is Not Enough
A jump start fixes most dead batteries, but not all of them. Some batteries have a dead cell, and sometimes the real problem is a failed alternator or starter. When a boost will not hold, we switch to a tow:
A battery past saving
If the battery is too far gone to take a charge, a jump is only a short-term fix. We can get you to a shop so you are not stranded again an hour later.
Flatbed tow to your shop
We will load your car on a flatbed tow truck and take it to your mechanic or dealership anywhere in Calgary, day or night with our 24 hour towing.
Alternator or starter trouble
If the charging system is the issue, a boost will not keep the car running. See our car breakdown towing page for how we handle a no-start that a jump cannot solve.
